What does the memorial letter look like?
Below is a sample memorial letter, along with instructions on how to complete the donation form so that the memorial letter will be correct for your client.
If I’ve made a mistake in the donation tab, how do I fix it?
If you have not already completed the Preview and Process step, you can delete your incorrect entry and resubmit it. To delete an entry, go to the Preview and Process tab and click the red delete button. To re-enter, return to the Donation tab. If you have already confirmed the entries, please call 519-824-4120 x 54431 for assistance.
What happens if I do not “commit” my donations on the Preview & Process tab?
If you do not commit your entries on the Preview and Process tab, the entries will not be processed. You must commit entries before OVC Pet Trust will send memorial letters to your client(s).
What does it mean if my memorial donation is “pending” in the Donations Summary tab?
A “pending” entry means that you have committed your donation, however we have not yet sent a memorial letter to your client. If you have questions about a pending entry, please call 519-824-4120 x 54431 for assistance.
Do I have to give a minimum donation per pet?
There is no minimum donation, however $20 per pet is our suggested donation amount per pet. We appreciate clinics that support at this level or greater, as it helps to ensure we are able to continue to grow the fund and help fulfill our mission.
How long will it take before my client receives notification of my donation?
OVC Pet Trust strives to have notification letters into the mail one week after receiving a gift. However, fluctuations do occur. Please contact us at 519-824-4120 ext. 54431 for the most current timing information.
Will my clients be contacted by Pet Trust, OVC or the University of Guelph?
No, after the memorial letter is sent, your clients will not be contacted for any purpose.
When will I receive my statement?
You will receive your statement by mail once every 3 months.
How do I pay my statement?
You can pay your statement by mailing a cheque payable to OVC Pet Trust Memorial Program or by calling 519-824-4120 x 54431 with your credit card information. Once payment is received, we will send your tax receipt.
Are tax receipts issued for donations?
Tax receipts are issued by the University of Guelph for donations received by OVC Pet Trust (charitable registration number 10816 1829 RR 0001).
